AirCar promises sustainable, high-speed travel for intra-urban commuter

Today, sustainable air mobility is more attractive than ever, and AirCar promises sustainable, high-speed travel for intra-urban commuters. In short, with a range of 50 to 80 kilometers on a single charge, the AirCar is the optimal aircraft for the new urban mobility.

AirCar is an autonomous electric aircraft (eVTOL), which has been in development since 2017 and later in 2021 carried out its first test flight. The AirCar design is one of a kind, because it is the result of years of testing and computer processing. Its futuristic design allows it a low aerodynamic drag profile, therefore greater distances with lower energy consumption. The aircraft is designed around its two passengers for a total payload of 200 kilograms.

No compromises here: the eight distributed motors with high torque density and redundancy working with effective and silent propellers.

Since 2017 AirCar has been developing state-of-the-art eVTOL with proprietary technologies in hardware and software combined with a unique design. Specifically, To reduce weight and maintain structural integrity for maximum effectiveness and dependability, the AirCar frame is composed of aircraft grade composites.

Years of proprietary hardware and software development have resulted in unique avionics. The AirCar flight control framework guarantees a steady and solid flight for airplane. Furthermore AirCar is equipped with an autonomous flight control system that continuously combines data from computer vision, lidar, radar and other sensory outputs. To summarize, this sensory network continuously supplies data to the AI system integrated in the autopilot, allowing the quality of the flight to be optimized at any time.

“AirCar promises less time to travel and more time to live.”

A great power needs an evolute control

The AirCar is powered by eight electric motors which, in addition to giving it speed and power, provide high redundancy in case one or the engines have a problem. Particularly, each motor is connected to an efficient and silent propeller.

AirCar’s interiors are built around its passengers. For example, by means of a voice command, it is possible to access all the controls present on the three bright screens of the aircraft.

Nothing has been overlooked on the safety factor in the AirCar. Subsequently, there are system redundancies in the vehicle at all levels, all this to prevent that the failure of a single component will put the aircraft and the passengers inside, at risk.

Convinced of the strength of their project and also confident of the results obtained from their tests that have produced a highly technological aircraft, AirCAr has begun the procedures for certifications with FAA and EASA.
