XPENG X2
The XPENG X2 is an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) flying car developed and manufactured by XPENG AEROHT, boldly called by the company “The Low-altitude air mobility explorer”.
A minimalist teardrop-shaped design combined with a futuristic appearance give the X2 highly efficient aerodynamics for maximum flight performance.
The XPENG X2 makes the most of today’s aviation technologies to reduce the weight of the aircraft. In fact, while the internal skeleton has been made of aeronautical aluminum, the external cell has been made of carbon fiber.
Because the XPENG X2 is a two-seater flying car designed for urban mobility, therefore can be used mainly as an air taxi.
In XPENG’s projects, the X2 will be the vehicle of the future for low-altitude urban flights and is perfect for planning sightseeing or medical transport.
Being totally electric, the X2 does not produce carbon dioxide emissions during flight and this, according to the manufacturer, will reduce pollution in our cities.
Autonomous and Manual Drive.
The guide can be manual and autonomous. in the Aerotaxi version, the autonomous flight, will be mainly used to allow passengers to enjoy the flight in complete relaxation. In fact, with the simple press of a button, and the setting of the destination, all the phases of the flight, take-off, transfer, and landing will be delegated to the on-board systems. The X2, intelligent flight systems can autonomously plan the best flight path (ed. In accordance with the flight laws of the individual countries).
The X2 is intent on offering a premium flight experience to its lucky passengers. This above all, thanks to a cockpit that offers one of the widest views in the category. In addition, the on-board instrumentation, which closely resembles that of a spaceship, is very ergonomic and easy to use. A final touch of design has been thought of for the large floating display.
“We are dedicated to producing the safest intelligent electric flying car for individual users”
Power with Safety
We come to performance. The X2 has a maximum takeoff weight of 760 kg (1675 pounds) and can carry a payload of 200 kg (440 pounds).
Four independent battery packs provide power to the eight electric motors. The latter are connected to as many counter-rotating propellers.
The battery pack provides a power supply equal to about 35 minutes of flight. The power generated is quite high, so much so that the aircraft can go up to about 130 km / h of maximum speed.
For safety, a multi redundant system allows you to continue the flight, or land, even in the event of failure of several rotors.
Furthermore, again speaking of safety, the X2 is also equipped with a ballistic parachute. The latter is inserted into the cell and is automatically activated in the event of an emergency.
Finally, a system of sensors, radars and cameras continuously supplies data to the flight computer on board. Data that can also be transmitted to a monitor room. All this ensures that XPENG AEROHT is the result of years of research to safeguard the safety of passengers.
XPENG X2 made its first public flight on 10 October 2022 AT Skydive Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
XPENG AEROHT, founded in 2013, It is a subsidiary of XPENG, is the largest flying car company in Asia and a subsidiary of the Chinese giant automaker XPENG.
